Chatsworth International saw the first leg of the 2017 Event Riders Masters competition
The Ian Stark built CIC3* course gave us plenty to jump across this stunning setting and I couldnt be more delighted with Bulana owned by Jamie and Jo Lambert who kicked off the competition with her personal best dressage score of 39.9, one of only 5 sub 40 dressage tests
‘Berry’ then followed this with a flawless show jumping round, although we had a lengthy hold on course she still gave me a fantastic ride cross country to finish 4th just pipped by 0.1 point for a podium position
Many congratulations to Gemma Tattersall and Quicklook V who took the win and set a new ERM record with the lowest ever ERM finishing score
This new concept is certainly proving to be very popular with riders and followers of the sport and brings a great deal of excitement and fun to eventing
The weekend also saw JL Dublin owned by Deirdre Johnston and Jamie and Jo Lambert compete in his first CIC1* and again produced a fabulous double clear to finish in 8th place
‘Dubs’ who is still only 6 was the youngest horse competing in the CIC1* and is one of a string of young horses who are showing great potential for the future – we have so much to look forward to
One Two Many owned by Mr and Mrs Gerry Kemp and Janine Shewan produced a good test in the CIC3* in preparation for his CCI3* run at Bramham in June
Bulana will next run at Luhmulhlen in Germany competing in the CCI4* in June
Thank you to all at Chatsworth for another wonderful competition and to my team, sponsors and owners who make it all possible
Nicola
